Employee Pep Rally Event Celebrates September 25th Homecoming
NEW ORLEANS, LA Ochsner announced today its support for the New Orleans Saints, in their first season returning to the city post-Katrina, as the teams official healthcare sponsor. Ochsner will support the NFL team for the next four seasons: 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. As the Saints gear up for their first home game in the Superdome on Monday, Ochsner is hosting an employee pep rally event to cheer the team back home. Our decision to support the New Orleans Saints was based on furthering community confidence, restoring a positive bond among residents, and sustaining the economic growth of our city, says Dr. Patrick Quinlan, Chief Executive Officer at Ochsner Health System. Quinlan goes on to say, the Saints will provide residents of the surrounding communities with a positive emotional outlet and a revival of tourism dollars. The team brings significant tourism dollars into the community; 60% of all ticket sales for home games are purchased from outlying areas in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. This regional support not only benefits the Saints, but a host of tourism enterprises within the city of New Orleans, such as hotels, restaurants and stores. Supporting the New Orleans Saints is another means for Ochsner to further its commitment to rebuilding and growing the Gulf Coast community, and we are proud to be their healthcare provider, says Quinlan. This opportunity also supports Ochsners expanding focus on sports medicine, says Quinlan.
