Ochsner West Bank Provides Health Screenings For Faculty And Staff At Ehret High School

NEW ORLEANS - Nurses and physicians from Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus visited Ehret High School in Marrero as part of a community outreach event to provide free health and wellness screenings for the school's faculty and staff. Eighty-four members of the staff participated in screenings for total cholesterol, HDL, glucose and blood pressure.

In addition, two Ochsner physicians were onsite: Dr. Roger Racz, D.P.M., a podiatrist who conducted foot screenings and Dr. Shari Rodgers, a family practice physician who answered personal health questions.

Ehret High School is the home of Ochsner Health System's newest school-based health center, which opened at the beginning of the 2010 school year. Bonnabel High School was the site of Ochsner's first school-based clinic, which opened in 2008 and saw 3,600 visits in the 2010 school year.
