Lieselotte Tansey, Donor and Breast Cancer Survivor, Will Attend Event
WHAT: On Thursday, the Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center at Ochsner will celebrate its 10 year anniversary with special guest Lieselotte Tansey at an open house featuring guest speakers, demonstrations, refreshments and door prizes.
The Tansey Breast Center was established to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the detection and treatment of breast disease by compassionate and caring specialists. By working in close proximity, surgeons and radiologists foster synergy and efficiency that is unachievable in any other setting. The Breast Center is actively involved in breast cancer research, helping to develop new and more effective methods of preventing, diagnosing and treating breast cancer. In addition, Tansey was the first accredited breast center in the region by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
The Breast Center was named after Mrs. Lieselotte Tansey, a breast cancer survivor and Ochsner patient, whose generosity made the Breast Center a reality. Mrs. Tansey resides in Germany and has come to Ochsner for her healthcare for more than 40 years. It is because of her support that we are able to fulfill the mission of the Breast Center.
