St. Baldrick's Foundation donates $50,000 to Ochsner Cancer Institute

NEW ORLEANS, LA St. Baldrick's Foundation announces today, as part of its ongoing campaign to Conquer Kids' Cancer, it has donated $50,000 to the Ochsner Cancer Institute to benefit childhood cancer research. "This award recognizes the groundbreaking work and dedication of Ochsner's physicians and staff, and the deep commitment to pediatric cancer research by the people of New Orleans," says Kathleen Ruddy, Executive Director of the St. Baldrick's Foundation. "Despite suffering personal losses from Hurricane Katrina, local volunteers have raised more $14,000 for the cause," explains Ruddy. As part of their continuing effort to raise donations to fight pediatric cancer, St. Baldrick's will host two head-shaving events this week that will feature music, food, and a great family atmosphere.
