History
Prior to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, this LASER facility was one of the most active in New Orleans. Because of changes in medical staff and administration, the center was underutilized until the arrival of our current Medical Director, Dr Pulin Shah to the Ochsner Department of Ophthalmology in 2007. Under Dr Shah’s guidance, the LASER Vision Center at Ochsner Baptist was completely renovated in 2008 as part of Ochsner’s commitment to rebuilding the Baptist Medical campus. The LASER center now houses the most up-to-date LASER technology, and is able to offer unparalleled safety and precision for its laser surgery patients.
