How do I get an appointment for therapy? Do I need to have an Ochsner doctor to be seen for therapy at Ochsner?
A physician referral/order is required for therapy services. Once a physician determines that therapy is necessary their office can call our scheduling coordinator to set up a therapy evaluation. If necessary you can also call yourself, but please have your clinic number available when you call to schedule. If you do not have an Ochsner doctor, our scheduling coordinator will put you in touch with the admissions department so that you may obtain an Ochsner clinic number. We have many locations available for therapy services, and the scheduling coordinator will work to find the most convenient location to meet your needs.

How do I, or my loved one, get admitted to the Inpatient Rehab Center?
A physician referral is needed for a rehabilitation candidate to be evaluated and considered for the Inpatient Rehab Program. Once a referral is received, our team will evaluate the patient to see if they meet criteria for admission to Inpatient Rehab. Once a patient is accepted to Rehab we work with the patient to help them navigate the insurance process. Prior to arrival on the unit, the patient and their family will be educated on what items to bring to the unit and estimated length of stay. In instances where a patient does not qualify for admission to the Inpatient Rehab Unit, we will work with you to find an alternate setting that will meet your therapy needs.
