Ochsner: An International Leader in Heart Care
Ochsner Health System is a long-time leader in heart care, with an international, national and regional reputation for excellence. Through the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, we offer advanced cardiac programs that meet the highest standards patient care, research, and education. Ochsner provides a continuum of patient care – diagnosis, treatment, surgery, non-surgical catheter-based procedures, and rehabilitation – unmatched in our region.
Among the Institute’s highly specialized programs is the Ochsner Congenital Heart Program, a collaborative effort involving cardiologists. Our goal is to provide ongoing care to those with “corrected” or newly diagnosed congenital heart disease.
Specialized Care
Our Congenital Heart Program provides highly specialized, comprehensive care for those with congenital heart disease (CHD). They may be at a higher risk for heart arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, and other health issues. The American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association recommends that a cardiologist with advanced training evaluate all CHD patients.
Ochsner’s multidisciplinary team of pediatric and adult cardiologists, cardiovascular imagers, heart failure/transplant cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and electrophysiologists are here to offer comprehensive, cardiovascular care to this unique group of patients.
