When you deliver in the Ochsner Family Birthing Center - Baton Rouge, you are safe in the center of one of the nation's top-ranked health systems. The Birthing Center is located on the 4th floor of Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge, giving your medical team access to all the resources of a full-service hospital, just in case you need extra help during delivery.
Over 3,000 babies have been born at the Ochsner Family Birthing Center since it opened in 2010. You are welcome to design your own birthing plan, in partnership with your provider. We want your delivery day to meet all of your expectations.

The Family Birthing Center is staffed by seven board-certified OB/GYN physicians plus a collaborative midwifery practice with six certified nurse midwives and one advanced practice nurse. Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge will be the only hospital in the area to offer a midwifery program to its patients and provides a number of alternative birthing options.
