Soft Palate Radiofrequency
Treatments for the soft palate utilize radiofrequency technology to stiffen the soft palate and decrease vibrations of this structure from turbulent airflow. The goal of treatment is a reduction in the intensity of snoring.
This procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia and results can become evident over the course of 4-6 weeks. In certain cases, repeat treatments are required for full effect.
Is this procedure right for me?
If your in office examination reveals a soft palate with noted vibrations on snoring endoscopy, you are a candidate for this procedure.
I have an active gag reflex. Will this prevent me from getting this procedure?
Many people have an active gag reflex. After adequate local anesthesia, we can most often decrease your gag reflex and perform this procedure.
