Excisions of stomach lesions such as leiomyomas and carcinoid tumors can be performed, as well as highly selective vagotomy, gastric resections, bowel resections and lysis of adhesions for obstruction. An appendectomy can also easily be performed laparoscopically, although its advantages over open surgery are less clear.
