Doctors at Ochsner Medical Center performed a life-saving surgery on four-year-old twin girls. At birth, twins Abby and Anna Loy were diagnosed with an abnormal hole in the wall between their hearts' upper chambers. The girls are from Shreveport and came to the New Orleans area for the minimally invasive procedure because it's unavailable in their hometown. The procedure at Ochsner allowed the girls to avoid open having open heart surgery. This is the first time doctors at Ochsner have performed the surgery on twins on the same day.
