We Heal: Jack Tillery’s Transplant Story

Jack Tillery was the recipient of a rare double organ transplant of the heart and kidney. At Ochsner, our transplant department follows a team approach in patient care.

After Jack’s transplant, he resumed normal activities in his life. In fact, he rode his bike 270 miles from Moss Bluff to Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. His mantra is “Because someone gave…someone lives.” Jack’s bike ride serves as a telling sign to raise awareness for organ donation. One organ donor can save nine lives.
