Ochsner carefully considered environmental and sensory design elements such as light, acoustics, colors, ventilation, zoning, spatial configurations, textures and materials.
Features include:
- Covered drop-off areas
- Larger exam rooms and doorways
- A sensory room
- Therapeutic observation rooms
- A spacious, light-filled onsite therapy gym featuring the latest rehabilitation technologies
Related pediatric subspecialty services are located on the second floor of the Boh Center, and a healing garden connects the pediatric primary care and Boh Center buildings. The healing garden incorporates different textures and surfaces such as stairs, curbs, gravel, grass and cobblestones, giving patients and therapists an opportunity to practice navigating real-world challenges in a safe environment. It is also a place for all visitors to the pediatric campus to rest and relax.
