He is fully trained and certified in coronary and peripheral interventions including lower extremity interventions. He is well trained in structural heart disease including Patent foramen ovale closure (PFO), Atrial septal defect closure (ASD), balloon aortic valvuloplasty and Transcatheter Aortic Valve replacement. (TAVR). He is also trained and certified in implanting single and dual chamber pacemaker and defibrillators, subcutaneous defibrillators and loop recorders.
Dr. Ghatak is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC) and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). His interests are in complex, high risk coronary intervention with use of Left ventricular assist devices, and structural heart disease.
He is academically very well published including multiple manuscripts in high impact journals as American Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, Euopace, Journal of Nuclear cardiology, Catheter & Cardiovascular Interventions, Journal of Interventional cardiology etc, and over 50 abstract presentations and publications at various national and international conferences. He was one of the winners of Young investigator award at American College of Cardiology, Florida chapter for his research presentations.
