Dr. Aderonke Akingbola earned her medical degree from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Nigeria. She completed her rotational internship at Adeoyo General Hospital, Ibadan Nigeria before relocating to the United States. This was followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at St. John Hospital/Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. She then completed fellowship training at Tulane University Hospitals in New Orleans in 1999. Dr. Akingbola is board certified in Gastroenterology and has been on staff at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner since October 2008.

Dr. Akingbola is a Godsend. My last Gastroenterologist retired in 2019 and I was not going to continue my healthcare where my records were sent. I researched a new physician for a good while until I found Dr. Akingbola by doing an intense GOOGLE SEARCH. I am beyond thankful for making this appointment 3 months ago for an ongoing issue which I knew needed medical attention. She was very attentive and in turn explained in detail so much information I didn't know. The one important thing that I was impressed with was she was not rushing her time with me in any way whatsoever and this means so much as a new patient. Even the Ladies in the office are great! From checking in to scheduling a procedure upon departing, my experience was a 10+.
