Antonio Polanco, MD

Dr. Antonio Polanco is an adult cardiac surgeon practicing at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. Dr. Polanco is a native of Miami, Florida and obtained his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He went on to complete an integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital and afterwards completed an advanced heart failure surgery fellowship at the Washington University in Saint Louis/Barnes Jewish Hospital. He brings a particular expertise in thoracic transplantation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), complex aortic surgery and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. He enjoys teaching fellows, residents and medical students. When not doing surgery he enjoys indoor cycling, watching tennis matches and exploring New Orleans with his wife and two children.
