Ernest James, MD

LSU Family Practice Center – Kenner

Biography: Dr. James is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and a native of Kenner, LA. During his three-year service obligation with the National Health Service Corps following his residency, he worked at a Federally Qualified health Center in Metairie and a homeless clinic in Baton Rouge. During that time he served in the capacity of Medical Director and CEO.

Dr. James joined the LSUHSC faculty in November 2007. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and an officer in the United States Army Reserve. He has a special interest in the care of the underserved.

Dr. James is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
