Dr. Nwokolo joined Ochnser Medical Center- Baton Rouge in August 2014. She graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. She then earned her degree in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. Throughout her academic career, she remained active in the community, student government, and in research. She then completed podiatric surgical residency training at Scripps Mercy Hospital and Kaiser Permanente in California.
Dr. Nwokolo has completed several research projects in podiatric medicine, and has lectured at national seminars. She belongs to professional society memberships such as the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Association for Women Podiatrists.
Dr. Nwokolo believes that there is a solid connection with the physician and the patient. Her practice philosophy is to provide the best care and comfort to every patient by treating them as a family member. One of her favorite quotes is “To Give anything less than your Best, is to sacrifice the Gift.” She believes that the art of healing starts from a solid foundation and education to the patient with open communication. The physician and patient should work together as a team, in order to ensure an optimal healing environment. Her clinical interests are bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, sports medicine, foot and ankle sprains/fractures. Her interests outside of medicine are hiking, bicycling, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
