Jennifer Flenniken Barrow, MD

A Louisiana native, Jennifer Barrow was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. There she graduated from Centenary College with majors in biology and French. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency in family medicine at LSUHSC Shreveport.

Her training included an emphasis on emergency medicine, dermatologic procedures, and women’s health. Following residency, Jennifer moved to Lake Charles to join her husband. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and traveling.

In her own words: "I chose family medicine as a specialty because it places such an emphasis on continuity and developing lasting relationships with patients. I view the doctor/patient relationship as a partnership, and I hope to provide my patients with the support, encouragement, and quality of care that will enable them to meet their healthcare goals."

I've always disliked going to see doctors most of my life, Dr Barrow is probably the first I've had an appointment with that I enjoy seeing due to the great care she provides. She is very open to sharing knowledge, listening to your concerns and finding a solution that works for you.

Dr Barrow is so sweet. She truly listens, she’s very knowledgeable, thorough and it just feels like someone is on your team when you’re in her care. Her & her NP are fabulous. Everything was perfect! Fast and friendly! I was greeted by Bree very professionally and enthusiastic. Miranda completed pre-appointment check by doing all my vitals and was always smiling and laughing. It definitely made me feel like home. Dr.Barrow is the best doctor I have personally been to. She answered all my questions and explained to me what steps I need to take. Would definitely recommend 10/10!!

I just had my first appt with Dr Barrow today, and let me tell you. I almost cried from the overwhelming feeling of finally being seen and heard properly. I knew I wanted my new doc to be a woman, and I’m so glad I chose her. She is also a working mother with littles and understood me completely. She didn’t rush me, and made sure to take her time talking with me about my concerns, answered my questions, and getting to know me. I highly recommend her and her team. I’m extremely happy with my decision to put myself in her care.

I've been going to Dr. Barrow for over a year now. I am so happy I chose her. She's different than the other one I had for 7 years. Dr. Barrow listens, explains my care, smiles, and is very talented. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Glad I made the switch. Her office also makes it convenient with an app when I need something.
