Dr. West received Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed a doctoral internship in school psychology through the Louisiana School Psychology Internship Consortium and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a two year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology with Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Dr. West’s primary clinical practice is in pediatric psychology, focusing on the interplay between psychology and medicine for youth with chronic/recurrent or significant medical conditions. These services are provided in the outpatient setting through therapeutic interventions and interdisciplinary clinics, as well as through the inpatient consultation-liaison service. Dr. West co-leads the Comfort Ability workshop for youth with chronic pain and she participates in the Adolescent-Young Adult (AYA) clinic and colorectal clinic (CRC). In addition to her work in pediatric psychology, Dr. West also has a clinical interest in parent training. Other activities include that Dr. West serves as the wellness liaison for University of Queensland medical students during their time at Ochsner and she is involved in the development of training programs for psychologists at Ochsner. Dr. West is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), including the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and the Society of Pediatric Psychology.
