After nearly 10 years of varied nursing experience, including long term care and cardiac-medical ICU, I decided to use my passion for education and advocacy to help empower people living with diabetes/chronic disease and be a part of helping our community be healthier.
Often times complex chronic illnesses benefit from a more holistic approach to management. Through Ochsner’s ADA certified diabetes management program, we have the opportunity to teach about current best practice medication therapies, nutritional therapy and behavior modification. Chronic disease management can be frustrating and exhausting. I love being able to come along side my participants and help empower them to take back control of their condition and reach a higher quality of life, which often means less complications, less hospital time and more time spent enjoying life.
