Dr. Matthew McQueen received his undergraduate degree in 1984 from Duke University in North Carolina and his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He went on to complete a residency at the Alton Ochsner Foundation in Family Medicine in New Orleans in 1996. He also completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia, in 1997. Dr. McQueen served in the U.S. Navy for 29 years between active and reserve service. He was a designated Naval Flight Surgeon, and graduated from the U.S. Naval War College with a masters degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.Dr. McQueen is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 1997. He currently practices at the Ochsner Center for Primary Care and Wellness. Dr. McQueen enjoys masters swimming and bicycling in his free time.
