Maurizio Capogrossi, MD

Dr. Maurizio C. Capogrossi (Maurizio Colognesi Capogrossi) received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Università “La Sapienza” located in Roma, Italy. He then completed an Intership and Residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University, in Atlanta (GA). Thereafter Dr Capogrossi completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Johns Hopkins University as well as at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Baltimore (MD). Following training Dr Capogrossi was tenured at the NIA/NIH and joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University. In 1996 Dr Capogrossi returned to Italy to direct a research program in cardiovascular regenerative medicine and vascular biology. Following his retirement from the Italian research system he joined the Cardiology Department of Ochsner Medical Center. Dr Capogrossi is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
