Dr. Paul Zhang comes to Southwest Louisiana after serving as the medical director of medical oncology at the Institute of Integrative BioOncology and an attending physician at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He previously served as assistant professor of medicine and attending physician in the hematology/oncology section at Baylor College of Medicine. He has also held oncology positions at Hematology-Oncology Life Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, and St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Dr. Zhang holds a medical degree and a postgraduate doctoral degree. He performed his internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center at Columbia University in New York, New York, as well as a clinical medical oncology fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, and a cancer research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Zhang served as the principal investigator for several clinical trials locally and nationally. The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center has one of the largest offerings of cancer clinical trials in the Gulf South.
Dr. Zhang is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and was named to America’s Top Physician by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
