Dr. Robert "Allen" Butler received his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, graduating AOA. He then completed a general surgery internship followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Tulane. During his residency, Dr. Butler completed an additional year of training as a research fellow in adult reconstructive surgery, for which he won the Stinchfield Award from the Hip Society in 2010. After residency, Dr. Butler returned to his home town of Starkville, MS. In 2019, he started at Ochsner with 13 years of clinical orthopedics experience. Dr. Butlers orthopedic surgical interests include artificial joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder, arthroscopy of the hip, knee, and shoulder, orthopedic trauma, hand surgery, and general orthopedics. Dr. Butler is a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He practices at the Ochsner Neuroscience Institute in Slidell.
