Robert Butler, MD

Dr. Butler received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1995 from Mississippi State University and his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2000. Following this, he completed his internship and residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery. During his training at Tulane, Dr. Butler also completed a Research Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery which lead to his winning the 2010 Stenchfield Award from The Hip Society. Dr. Butler is board certified buy the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has been on staff at Ochsner since March of 2019. Prior to joining Ochsner, Dr. Butler was in practice in Mississippi for 13 years. Dr. Butler's expertise is in hip replacement, knee replacement, shoulder replacement, hip arthroscopy, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, fracture care, and general orthopedics.
