Dr. Rathe is a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. She grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana and attended Loyola University in New Orleans where she completed a double major in Communications and Political Science. Following that she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Tulane University. During her postgraduate studies she completed field work in Cusco, Peru in women’s health. Her international health care work also included working with teenagers in public health and alternative wilderness medicine programs in Belize and participating in multiple international surgical missions as a volunteer with Operation Smile. She worked for the National Kidney Foundation in Washington, DC as a program coordinator managing disease screening programs before returning to New Orleans to earn her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She completed her residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in Obstetrics and Gynecology and then completed a fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has returned to New Orleans to practice at Saint Bernard Hospital to initiate women’s health services at that facility. Her primary interests include minimally invasive gynecological surgery, management of precancerous conditions and preventative health.
