Royce Dean Yount, MD, practices cardiology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Yount has expertise in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology, providing comprehensive care for a range of medical conditions including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. Dr. Yount earned his degree in Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, in 1992. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular medicine since 1998, and interventional cardiology since 2000. After a residency in internal medicine, he completed a cardiology fellowship at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, which he completed in 1998. Dr. Yount actively participates in the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions to stay updated on medical advancements. Dr. Yount is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of his patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. He focuses on preventing and treating cardiovascular disease with a combination of medications, minimally invasive procedures and education. The goal is for his patients to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. He has been practicing at Ochsner since joining the institution in 2020. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time fishing and traveling with his family.
