Ryan Himes, MD, specializes in pediatric hepatology and liver transplant medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Himes joined Ochsner in 2019, after more than a decade at one of the nation's largest pediatric liver transplant programs. Dr. Himes was drawn to Ochsner by the opportunity to develop a comprehensive regional program to care for children with liver disease. His clinical interests include biliary atresia, Alagille syndrome, progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) and other rare causes of liver disease. His division participates in a number of clinical trials which allow children across the Gulf South the ability to access cutting-edge therapies and state-of-the-art treatment protocols. Dr. Himes serves as Section Head, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition; Medical Director, Pediatric Liver Transplantation; and Associate System Chair, Pediatric Subspecialties.
