Dr. Sarah Holt grew up on Long Island, New York and earned her undergraduate degree from Siena College outside Albany, NY. She received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at the NY Institute of Technology. She is board-certified in family medicine. Dr. Holt practiced family medicine including delivering babies, some emergency room moonlighting and volunteer work for the domestic violence shelter for 20 years in Lancaster, PA prior to moving to Louisiana in 2007. Having fallen in love with New Orleans years before (she and her husband are music lovers and habitual Jazz Festers), they were able to make the move with their son (who went on to graduate from Ben Franklin HS and LSU). Dr. Holt practiced family medicine when joining the Ochsner staff in 2007 until 2019 when she switched over to the Urgent Care department."I feel my broad background has prepared me well to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical problems that may be seen in the urgent care setting. I'm also a 'people person' and enjoy the opportunity to empower and educate patients on how to take care of themselves. I hope someday to do some international volunteer work."
