Dr. Shah received her medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. After finishing her general gastroenterology fellowship at Ochsner, she completed an advanced training program in inflammatory bowel disease at the University of Chicago. She returned to Ochsner in 2015 as the medical director of the inflammatory bowel disease program, after spending seven years in the San Francisco Bay area, where she directed the inflammatory bowel disease program at Stanford University.
Dr. Shah is board-certified in gastroenterology and engages in cutting edge research with a special interest in IBD-associated diseases such as primary sclerosing cholangitis, IBD related cancer and novel diagnostics and treatments.
