Dr. Xiao is the only oncologist I’ve ever encountered, and understandably I was nervous having to see him, BUT he made it so easy. He’s straightforward but he listens, answers questions and respects your opinions even when he has to disagree. I like him and think you will too.

Dr Xioa was compassionate and explained everything in detail.

At first I really don't know that the cancer, lymphoma B- cell never goes away. Dr. Shaun Xiao DO, explained why I was not going to get radiation treatment and even start chemo treatments atm. He is very professional explaining in straight up detail of starting chemo which is the only option I have left. For now I am in stage 1,2/3 of lymphoma b - cell cancer. Behind my ear was a mass of tumors. Surgery was performed by Dr Hasney in New Orleans, Louisiana, Oschner Hospital... The cutting ended up being more than expected. I am still lighting up on the left side of my ear, Right side of ear, it has also moved into my torso. Left side of the growin also lite up. The cancer is not domain at 1 location of my body. Radiation treatment can not be done! Now every 3 mths I will have blood test and probably a CT scan to determine if it has moved anymore and when he should begin chemo. If fast moving r aggressive then it will take chemo. . I clearly understand what he said. But lymphoma cancer never goes away.

I have seen quite a few doctor's in my 58 yrs as a parent and care giver to others but it was not till recently that I have actually had to see a bunch of the for myself. In January of 2022 I noticed some difficultly with food passing into my stomach. By late Feb early March I had it. Without health insurance I went to the ER. Where I was told it was just heartburn or possibly esophageal stricture. Which they wouldn't take care of as I was a payment risk. My next visit to the ER was much more painful and was sent to a primary care for them to refer me to an gastroenterologist to be seen not fixed on the first visit. A month later when the endoscopy was preformed instead of a stricture the found fungating masses in 3 or 4 in a variety of sizes a long the length of my esophagus. Well a brain tumor later and 11 days in Ocshner Main Campus in Jefferson LA . I met Dr Xiao and I knew he was the right Dr for me. Dr Xiao and his staff are talented, caring and honest. I really like Dr. Xiao approach to conferring with his patients, he is very attentive and informative. He will answer your question with quality content and assuring tones. You know your in good competent hands with Dr Xiao with his peaceful speech pattern and competent phrases. In other words he is a straight shooter no bologna and effective prompt response to changes. The office personel are especially nice and also completely confident in their social and work ethic. Thanks Dr Xiao and team for your support and I am glad a choose the path I'm on for my treatment of Esophageal Cancer.

Dr. Xiao has such a wonderful bedside manor. He’s extremely personable and takes time with his patients. My mom has dementia so I or my aunt accompany her on her appointments. I told his nurse what a wonderful doctor but I really hope I never have to see him personally. I was just so relieved when I met him. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He answers all of your questions and really listen to his patients. I think we’re missing that piece. It seems as though offices are so hurry to get you in to bill the insurance they don’t listen but definitely not him. Just so friendly and patient.
