Dr. Shaun Yockelson fell in love with the city of New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana as an undergraduate student at Tulane University. During his undergraduate training he became a volunteer emergency medical technician, and provided search and rescue and recovery services to the region during Hurricane Katrina. He continued his medical education earning his Doctor of Medicine from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, and completed an integrated anesthesiology residency and critical care medicine fellowship in his home state at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. Dr. Yockelson's leading desire is to provide the absolute best in cutting-edge anesthesiology, perioperative, and critical care services. His clinical interests are organ transplant anesthesiology, surgical critical care, and extracorporeal life support. Research interests focus on the use of point-of-care ultrasound to assist the anesthesiologist and intensivist in bedside medical decision making.
