Tracie Carter, MD, specializes in pediatrics at Ochsner Health. Dr. Carter is a life-long resident of Slidell, Louisiana, and she earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her pediatrics residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center. Dr. Carter worked at Pearl Acres Pediatrics for six years before joining Ochsner in 2007. She served as the chief of pediatrics at North Shore Regional Medical Center from 2002 through 2004, as well as chief of pediatrics at Ochsner Medical Center between 2012 and 2013. Dr. Carter was the Ochsner Medical Center Reach Out and Read Physician Liaison from 2012 to 2013. She has gone on mission to Belize with the Dos Amigos dental and medical mission in 2010. Her interests are triathlon and fitness activities, and she passionately promotes an active lifestyle with healthy nutrition in children and adolescents. She has deep compassion, supporting families of children on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder and asthma management. Her goal is to have parents and caregivers understand good health practices and take an active role in the health and vitality of their child.
