Trent Desselle, MD

Dr. Desselle earned his medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Following graduation, he stayed at LSU New Orleans to complete his internship and residency. He also has completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Maryland. Dr. Desselle specializes in psychiatry. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2005 and practices at the Ochsner Medical Center on Jefferson Highway. Dr. Desselle is board certified in Psychiatry and can be reached at 504-842-4025. Dr. Desselle's area of special interest includes forensic psychiatry.

Dr Desselle listens to what has worked for me in the past. He spends time discussing what might be the best treatment or medication with.me and he respects my input. I appreciate this very much. He has also been extremely patient in finding the right combination of medicine to relieve my symptoms of depression.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Desselle since, well it seems like forever, in the very best way possible. He is caring, understanding and articulate. You are able to “talk real life” with him and not have to worry about him shutting you down when it comes to describing “your symptoms”. He spends as much time as he can with you, and has referred me to some of Oschner’s Finest Professionals. I consider myself to be in “the BEST hands possible”, by having Dr Desselle as my psychiatrist.
