The Ochsner Department of Orthopedics offers comprehensive musculoskeletal treatment employing the latest techniques and technology to provide care
to patients of all ages that is unparalleled in the Gulf South. U.S. News & World Report recognizes Ochsner Orthopedics as one of the top 50 orthopedic departments in the country. We are the only orthopedic department in either Louisiana or Mississippi to have this ranking. We are also rated 5 stars by Healthgrades® for Joint Replacement, Hip Fracture Treatment and Spine Surgery. In addition, we are recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery.
We have a growing department of more than 20 orthopedic surgeons and highly trained advanced practice clinicians providing care throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area, Baton Rouge, Covington and Slidell. We are committed to providing prompt access to patients and referring physicians. We are a sub-specialized department providing expertise in:

Research, both basic science and clinical, is paramount to our mission. The purpose
of this research is to enhance the quality of care we deliver to our patients. We have presented our results regionally, nationally and internationally, with several studies winning awards. Our research has also been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Our surgeons serve in leadership roles for their orthopedic societies and organizations.
