The Ochsner Orthopedic Surgery Department utilizes the latest techniques and technology to treat orthopedic patients of all ages. We have more than 18 board-certified and board-eligible surgeons throughout southeast Louisiana offering care in eight subspecialties.
Our dedicated Sports Medicine Institute provides care to the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans. Our Hand Center at Ochsner Baptist focuses on providing specialized hand surgery care.
We are currently the only hospital in the region to offer MAKOplasty® partial knee resurfacing and total hip replacement. In this state-of-the-art surgical approach, orthopedic surgeons use RIO,® a highly advanced robotic arm enabling accurate alignment and placement of implants. We also have the only orthopedic oncologist in the region. Later this year, we will open a special area of the hospital to care exclusively for joint replacement patients.
Ochsner offers orthopedic capabilities unmatched in the region. Our trauma team is capable of handling some of the most challenging and complex fractures. Our spine and pediatric orthopedic surgeons take care of some
of the most severe spine deformity and scoliosis cases in the region. Our foot and ankle specialists treat the full spectrum of foot and ankle diagnoses.
The Ochsner Orthopedic Surgery Department is honored to be the only department in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama ranked among the
top 50 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. We are also ranked
by Healthgrades® Among the Top 10% in the Nation for Joint Replacement, received their Joint Replacement Excellence Award,TM and earned their Five-Star Ranking for Joint Replacement, Back Surgery, Total Knee Replacement and Hip Fracture Treatment.
