dear friends,
I recently had the privilege of celebrating the gener- osity of Ochsner’s donors at our annual benefactor dinner. This year, we inducted 39 new members to
our Benefactors Society, for gifts of $25,000 or more. Last year was one of the most successful philanthropic years ever at Ochsner, and we achieved enormously positive results for our patients because of it.
Of course, large gifts make a large impact, but smaller gifts can have great impact as well. This spring, Ochsner was proud to join more than 300 local nonprofits in GiveNOLA Day, a fundraising campaign sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. More than 100 individuals, many of them first-time donors, contributed to Ochsner during the event.
In a city that knows a thing or two about endur- ance, hope and survival, the Ochsner Cancer Insti- tute recently sponsored the Hope Floats Festival for Survivors. In true Louisiana fashion, we came togeth- er at Mardi Gras World to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day with an inspirational day of music, food and hope-filled messages.
Finally, I hope you will join us for the 2014 Moon- light & Miracles Gala on November 14. This event benefits the Ochsner Cancer Institute and recognizes the entire spectrum of cancer.
