dear friends,
During the holiday season I am especially thankful for the wonderful volunteers, employees and physicians who work as a team to help change and save lives at Ochsner. Our recent Moonlight and Miracles gala to support the Benson Cancer Center was an example of true teamwork among the more than 150 volunteers who transformed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome into a dazzling venue and created this memorable event. The Moonlight and Miracles gala is Ochsner’s largest fundraising event ever and I am especially grateful to Mrs. Gayle Benson again for her leadership as the gala chairperson.
In thinking about service and life-long commit- ments, Ochsner recently lost one of our long-serving physicians and executive leaders. Dr. Frank Riddick Jr. was a former CEO who led Ochsner through a tremen- dous period of growth and change. I am grateful to have worked with and learned from Dr. Riddick and the entire Ochsner team is committed to honoring his legacy and building upon his great work.
Finally, I hope you will consider honoring a loved one or a caregiver by purchasing a Tree of Life orna- ment. This year we will have Tree of Life celebrations at nine Ochsner locations. Your gift can help support the Ochsner team as we continue to save and change lives.
