Junior Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in the Junior Volunteer Program at Ochsner Health! Applications for the summer 2026 program have now closed. Please consider applying next year. Application to open in March 2027.

The Junior Volunteer Program is offered at multiple locations during the summer for high school students ages 14 to 17. It is a great way for students to explore a future healthcare career by gaining hospital knowledge. It is also a wonderful chance to help others in your local community.

Additional requirements include: reference letters, orientation (with a parent or legal guardian) and health screening through document submission. More information will be provided.

The form will be forwarded directly to your local Volunteer Services Office at Ochsner for review. Due to the large response, please allow time for review. We appreciate your patience. After review, a volunteer staff member will contact you if a position is available and will share more program details. You can expect some programs to offer half-day volunteer opportunities (Monday–Thursday mornings) during two-week or three-week sessions in June and/or July. Please check with your local volunteer leader to learn about the program structure, session dates, application deadlines and other important information.
