What is IMESO research?
Research is collection of data to measure specific parameters such as employee well-being and spirituality, or Ochsner Health System success. For IMESO, the goal is to determine the extent to which spirituality pervades our workplace culture.
Our current baseline workplace spirituality is being established through survey assessments. For this purpose, a questionnaire called Finding Meaning and Purpose at Work was issued in July 2012. Collected data is under analysis. Other approaches will be used to measure behaviors that directly reflect spirituality and influence individual organizational success.
Why do we do it?
IMESO is a new Ochsner initiative. We wish to measure the effectiveness of IMESO in contributing to the spiritual support and growth of Ochsner employees and of the system culture.
The research is designed to measure our workplace spirituality and how our spirit changes over time (longitudinally) and as educational and support programs are implemented at Ochsner. The research will also measure the impact of IMESO on measurable workplace behaviors that have been coupled to employee well-being and organizational success.
How will it help us?
There is strong argument to be made that companies driven by strong values will endure and prevail. “Doing Well by Doing Good.”
Fully engaged people with emotional intelligence and a strong sense of purpose are happier and more productive.
