In 2013, Ochsner Health and Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) began a partnership that has transformed healthcare delivery in Houma, providing residents with comprehensive, integrated and innovative care.

The collaboration has catalyzed innovation, reducing healthcare costs for patients while improving quality and increasing local access to care.

More patients are being treated closer to home, while still having access to the nationally recognized specialists and the depth and breadth of care Ochsner is known for. Our shared commitment of access to affordable, quality care has enabled us to build upon our strengths and bring additional expertise and technology to the tri-parish area.

Our partnership has led to decreases in patient complications and better outcomes. More patients with specialized care needs are being transferred to Ochsner Medical Center for seamless, coordinated care.

Pediatrics

TGMC and Ochsner Hospital for Children collaborated to open a pediatric subspecialty clinic at TGMC, offering cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology, endocrinology, neurology, hematology/ oncology, general surgery and more.

CareConnect 360

Ochsner’s CareConnect 360 TeleStroke program at TGMC provides critical, time-sensitive stroke services to more than 450 patients annually, allowing more stroke patients to be treated locally and resulting in better outcomes.

Regional Referral Center

The Ochsner Regional Referral Center direct phone line allows patients who need a higher level of specialty care to be transferred quickly and efficiently, and makes it easier for patients in nearby communities to get care offered at TGMC closer to home.

Cardiology 

Cardiac surgery capabilities were improved with access to state-of-the-art equipment at significantly reduced costs.

Urgent Care

The former MHM Urgent Care location was reopened as Ochsner Terrebonne Urgent Care, to provide immediate, quality care to Houma residents after-hours and on weekends for non-emergency illnesses and injuries.
