Ursula Steib, a Supervisor in Patient Access at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center is a tremendous asset on the Bayou Region patient access team and serves as a great example for patient access teams across the system. Ursula took the initiative to develop an onboarding program for new hires for the patient access team locally, which has been shared with the system Patient Access Onboarding Committee. The structure she provides her employees in addition to the open lines of communication ensure her team members are engaged right at the start of their employment with Ochsner. ​Ursula has proven her effectiveness in her role with exceptional employee engagement scores, always supporting her team, encouraging teamwork and professional development, and thinking of new ways to streamline processes. Under her leadership, her team’s outstanding patient experience scores are driven by her high standards of professionalism, which result in our patients having the best experience possible.
