ED can happen for a number of reasons. It can be a sign of an underlying health condition, such as:

  • Atherosclerosis (clogged blood vessels)
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Obesity
  • Peyronie's disease
  • Sleep disorders
  • Stress and/or anxiety
  • Substance abuse including alcoholism
  • Tobacco use
  • Treatments for prostate cancer or enlarged prostate
  • Some prescription medications
  • Previous surgeries/injuries affecting the spinal cord or pelvic area
