Amnion ACL study

Jeremy Burnham, MD, medical director of the Ochsner Baton Rouge sports medicine program, is the principal investigator of the Amnion ACL study, which received the prestigious American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Playmaker grant. This study will measure the effectiveness of the use of certain grafts in patients undergoing ACL reconstruction.

STABILITY 2 trial

The STABILITY 2 trial, led by the University of Western Ontario in Canada, along with the University of Pittsburgh, focuses on which combination of procedures provides the best outcome for high-risk patients ages 25 and under with ACL injuries.

Dr. Burnham is also the principal investigator of the STABILITY 2 trial at Ochsner Baton Rouge sports medicine.

STaR trial

We are one of 25 health systems chosen by the U.S. Department of Defense for a comprehensive medical trial designed to improve treatment for multiple-ligament knee injuries. The $4 million Surgical Timing and Rehabilitation, or STaR, medical trial will benefit the U.S. military, as well as athletes and people from all walks of life who suffer multiple-ligament knee injuries.

Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh, The STaR Trial Network comprises 25 premier military and academic medical centers, and more than 50 of the top knee surgeons across the U.S. and Canada to determine the most beneficial treatment method. Dr. Burnham is the principal investigator of the STaR Trial.

TenJet Hydroresection trial

This study uses the TenJet Hydroresection system to address patients with elbow, hip and calcific shoulder tendinosis.

Sean Bradley, MD, is the principal investigator of the TenJet Hydroresection trial.

Ochsner Baton Rouge has partnered with Elite Training Academy to create a destination for comprehensive sports performance and care in Baton Rouge. The clinic combines the latest advancements in training, sports medicine, injury treatment and prevention, sports wellness and mental training.

Located at 5444 Burbank Drive, the facility includes a 60-yard indoor filed, as well as two full-size outdoor turf fields which will serve as a hub for athletes of all ages, featuring an array of services and offerings in one location.
