Ochsner Orthopedic Surgery cares for patients
of all ages utilizing the latest techniques and technology available to treat a wide spectrum
of orthopedic problems. The department’s more than 18 surgeons are fellowship-trained and board- certified/board-eligible. They have subspecialty expertise in spine surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, oncology, pediatrics and trauma surgery. A team of talented and experienced physician assistants and nurse practitioners works with the surgeons to provide patients with the best possible outcomes.
The Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute provides
a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to treatment of sports and fitness-related injuries. In addition, the sports medicine team provides preventive care through the promotion of wellness, fitness, performance enhancement and education. At the Sports Medicine Institute, physician services, diagnostic imaging and outpatient rehabilitation are all under one roof to make it easy for our patients to get better. Ochsner’s fellowship-trained sports medicine physicians have
the latest in diagnostic imaging technology and are trained on the most cutting-edge techniques to get your patients back to their desired activity level.
In addition to working closely with the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans, the Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute is committed to providing quality sports medicine to the community through athletic training either on a one-on-one basis, with one trainer per school, or for special events such as tournaments, camps and championships. Currently, the Sports Medicine Institute works with six local colleges and universities, 25 area high schools and 14 middle schools. The Sports Medicine Institute also conducts community education programs, along with coaching clinics and student athletic trainer workshops.
