Earn your Live Better Louisiana credit for 2027

Earn your 2027 premium credit by completing an Ochsner Wellness Screening . Blue Cross partners with Ochsner Health to offer no-cost to you wellness screenings at convenient locations across the state. During your visit, you’ll meet with a registered nurse, receive point-of-care test, and get a personalized health report with results and recommendations.

Please note: If you completed a Catapult Health clinic or submitted a Catapult PCP form between Oct. 1, 2025, and Feb. 28, 2026, you do not need to do anything again with Ochsner Health to complete the 2026 LBL program.

How to participate:

Review the screening schedule below and choose a location that works for you. To schedule your appointment, visit Ochsner Wellness Screenings and enter the event code for the location you selected.

  • When registering, enter your member name exactly as it appears on your Louisiana Blue medical insurance card.
  • If you got your premium credit for a prior year, you will need to earn it again for 2026.
  • If you cannot attend a wellness screening, have your doctor fax a completed Primary Care Provider form
  • If you have questions or need assistance, call 866-495-6235.

If you have questions, need assistance or need help registering for your screening, call 866-495-6235.

Live Better Louisiana Program Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Live Better Louisiana program?

Live Better Louisiana is a voluntary wellness program offered in coordination with the Office of Group Benefits (OGB) and Louisiana Blue.  It provides OGB Louisiana Blue members resources to help better monitor overall health, understand risk factors and make educated choices in improving health.

Why is OGB partnering with Ochsner?

The Office of Group Benefits (OGB) has partnered with Ochsner to provide convenient, high-quality health and wellness screening services for eligible members. These screenings help you better understand your health, risk of disease and can support you in helping to earn credit as part of the Live Better Louisiana wellness program.

Who is eligible for a health screening?

Eligible OGB members who are the primary plan member on an OGB Louisiana Blue plan at the time of screening may participate in the wellness program by completing a health screening. Please refer to your OGB wellness program materials for specific eligibility requirements.

What is a health screening?

A health and wellness screening is a brief health assessment that measures common health indicators.  It includes:

  • Capturing resting blood pressure rate

  • Recording waist circumference measurement and height and weight to assess Body Mass Index

  • Drawing a small sample of blood using a quick and painless finger prick to measure:

    • Cholesterol

    • Blood glucose (blood sugar)

    • HemoglobinA1C if applicable

These results provide a snapshot of your current health and may help identify opportunities to improve your overall well-being and reduce risk of disease. Results will be reviewed during a private in-person consultation with a registered nurse.

How do I schedule my screening?

You can schedule your appointment online at the OGB Biometric Screening webpage or by contacting the Ochsner support team at 1-866-495-6235.

Is there a cost for me?

Eligible health screenings provided through the OGB wellness program are available at no additional cost to participating members.

How long does the appointment take?

Most appointments take approximately 15–20 minutes.

Do I need to fast before my appointment?

Fasting for 8 hours is preferred but not required.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring:

  • A valid photo ID

  • Your health insurance information

  • Your primary care provider’s name and contact information

When will I receive my results?

Your results will be available the evening of your screening via secure email, accompanied by additional educational materials.

Will my employer see my results?

No. Your individual health information remains private. Your employer does not receive your personal health screening results.

Will my results be shared with my primary care provider?

Your results are available to you. If your primary care provider is within Ochsner, they will be able to view your results in your medical record. If your provider is outside Ochsner, and you provide their name and contact information, your results can be securely faxed to them.

What happens if my results are outside the normal range?

Your screening is designed to identify potential health risks—not diagnose medical conditions. If results indicate you may benefit from follow-up care, you will be encouraged to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider.

I don't have a primary care provider. Can Ochsner help?

Yes. We can help connect you with available healthcare resources. If you do not have a primary care provider, we can provide information about available providers and resources, including where to access care by providers in your network. Information on where to see providers in your network will be included with your screening results email.

Will completing my screening earn me credit for the wellness program?

If your screening is completed within the required timeframe and all program requirements are met, your participation will be reported to Louisiana Blue within two to four weeks of your screening event.

How long does it take for my wellness credit to appear?

After your screening is completed, your participation is reported to Louisiana Blue. You may receive an initial notification email from Louisiana Blue stating you have qualified to earn your premium credit.  Louisiana Blue reports monthly to OGB eligible members who have completed a screening in the required timeframe. Eligible premium credit discounts for the next plan year will be reflected on December paychecks for active employees and January retirement benefit checks for retirees.

Where can I find a schedule of screening clinics in my area?

Please visit the OGB Health Screening webpage for the most current list of screening clinic locations and scheduled events.
