Ochsner Rush Family Birthing Services is located within the Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. 

We provide a comfortable, peaceful environment featuring birthing suites with a home-like feel. In addition to world-class labor and delivery care and spacious birthing suites, Ochsner Rush Family Birthing Services offers several amenities for patients and visitors, including:

Ochsner Rush Medical Center is home to a level 2 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), offering expert, compassionate care for your newborn. Whether your baby is healthy or faces special medical needs, our team is here to help. Founded by Dr. LeRoy C. Mims, we proudly opened the first NICU in the Meridian area to serve our community.

Today, our dedicated neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide trusted care for high-risk infants. We use advanced technology to protect and support your baby, including incubators, warmers, ventilators and modern monitoring systems. With our highly trained staff and innovative tools, we partner with your family to give your baby the best possible start in life.

At Ochsner, we are devoted to giving mothers interested in breastfeeding their newborns the best chance of success. Ochsner Rush Medical Center provides education and tools to help breastfeeding mothers. Services we provide include:

• Prenatal consultation: Before your baby is born, our certified lactation consultants will introduce you to the principles of breastfeeding. We review your history, discuss community resources and develop an individualized care plan to establish breastfeeding, including recommendations for the use of breast pumps.
• Prenatal breastfeeding class: In a group setting, you will learn the basics of breastfeeding, including proper techniques, advice for breastfeeding in the hospital and guidance for breastfeeding at home.
• Breastfeeding consultations: Our lactation consultants are available for in-person assistance should the need arise.
