Dr. Abdul Khan specializes in pulmonology and pulmonary critical care. Dr. Khan is the vice-president of medical affairs at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner and associate medical director for medical and surgical specialties for the River Region.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Khan received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans where he was selected to serve an additional year as chief medical resident. Dr. Khan then completed a three-year fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Khan is board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. He has won numerous awards including Ochsner Health Spirit of Leadership Physician of the Year, Ochsner New Physician Executive of the Year, Hurst B. Hatch Teacher of the Year and Critical Care Faculty of the Year.
