Dr. Abdul Khan received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center where he was selected to serve an additional year as chief medical resident. Dr. Khan then completed a three-year fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Khan currently practices pulmonary and critical care medicine at Ochsner Health. He currently serves as Vice President of Medical Affairs at St. Bernard Parish Hospital, chair of the Performance Improvement Committee at OMC-Jefferson Highway and the Medical Director of the Xavier University/Ochsner Health Physician Assistant Program. Dr. Khan is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, and critical care medicine.
Dr. Khan has held numerous positions within Ochsner Health including Associate Medical Director of Rescue and Resuscitation at OMC-Jefferson Highway and Medical Director of the OMC-Westbank Intensive Care Unit. He has won numerous awards including Ochsner Health Spirit of Leadership Physician of the Year, Hurst B. Hatch Teacher of the Year, OMC-Westbank Physician Leader of the Year and Internal Medicine Residency Critical Care Faculty of the Year.
