Biography
Dr. Abdul Khan is the regional medical director for Ochsner Health Southshore Community Hospitals and Bayou. Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Khan received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Khan is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. He currently practices pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Khan has held numerous positions within Ochsner Health including Vice President of Medical Affairs at Ochsner Medical Center – Kenner, Associate Medical Director for medical and surgical specialties for the River Region, Vice President of Medical Affairs at St. Bernard Parish Hospital, Associate Medical Director of Rescue and Resuscitation at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans and Medical Director of the Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Intensive Care Unit. He has won numerous awards including Ochsner Health Spirit of Leadership Physician of the Year, Ochsner New Physician Executive of the Year, Hurst B. Hatch Teacher of the Year and Critical Care Faculty of the Year.
