Jason P. Amadeo, PA-C, practices sports medicine at Ochsner Health. Jason is a native of New Orleans, and a local graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School. Following high school, Jason attended Louisiana State University. During college, Jason was a member of the LSU cheerleading squad, where he served as captain his junior and senior year. After graduating from LSU with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, Jason attended physician assistant school at Our Lady of the Lake College and graduated with his master's of medical science degree in 2011. Jason is nationally certified, as well as licensed in the state of Louisiana. He is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

After gaining experience in general orthopedics and working in private practice for over a decade, he joined the Ochsner-Andrews Sports Medicine Institute team as a physician assistant (PA) in 2022.

Jason has experience in several areas of medicine prior to his current position. He was previously a PA in the Emergency Department where he gained experience in urgent and acute care issues. During his training prior to attending PA school, he worked in the acute inpatient and outpatient physical therapy departments. His past diverse experience has enabled him to appreciate multiple aspects of medicine and patient care.

Jason works independently and his common areas of work include:
• Injury diagnosis, management, and treatment
• Viscosupplementation injection (euflexxa/synvisc)
• Biologic injectables: platlet-rich plasma (PRP)
• Prescribing medications and physical therapy
• Ultrasound-guided injections
• Arthroscopic surgery assistance

At this point in his career, Jason has assisted in more than 4000 surgeries and performed 50,000+ injections.

Jason is heavily involved with athletes of all levels, specifically at the high school level. Jason assists in team coverage for local high schools and colleges across the Greater New Orleans area. He resides in Marrero, Louisiana, with his wife and four children.
