A New Orleans native, Dr. Jeffrey Guillmette attended Jesuit High School and Loyola University. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Xavier University and his medical degree from the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Ochsner and a four-year ophthalmology residency at the LSU Eye Center.
Immediately after his residency, Dr. Guillmette joined the LSU Eye Center as faculty staff before relocating to the Gulf Coast where he practiced in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Guillmette returned to New Orleans to join Ochsner in 2000. He is board-certified in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He specializes in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery at the Ochsner Health Center-Metairie and the Ochsner Health Center-Marrero on Lapalco Boulevard.
